AVAILABLE DOGS
As of
July 28, 2010
, Dane Outreach has the following dogs available for adoption.
Please note that people with approved applications are notified about available Danes, so dogs are frequently adopted without being featured on this page. Because of this, a common assumption is that we do not have any dogs in the program, when in fact a number may be "behind the scenes."
If you are interested in one of these dogs, and do not already have a completed application on file, please submit an Application before inquiring on a particular dog. An application, along with the procedure on how to submit it, can be found through the "Adoption" menu to the left. To avoid problems and disappointments, we cannot provide additional information on our dogs, or set up an appointment to meet a dog, unless an application has beenreceived and approved.
| From time to time we feature shelter-Danes and referrals on our email list. These Danes are not part of the Dane Outreach program. They are listed for information only, and as an accommodation to the shelters and to the public.Dane Outreach is not otherwise a participant in the acquisition and/or placement of any of these dogs. Dane Outreach has not examined or tested these dogs, nor accepted them into the Dane Outreach program. Dane Outreach has no knowledge of, and is not responsible for, their health, temperament, or other attributes.
If you are interested in one of the shelter / referral Danes featured on our mailing list, please call the listed contact number directly. Do not call Dane Outreach. |

Stormy is a 9 year old merle Great Dane female. That's pretty old for a Dane, but she is holding up well. She is house-trained, knows basic commands and does not pull much on the leash. She mostly likes to sit on the couch and sleep a lot, with regular outside breaks. She doesn't have a lot of energy for long walks, and overdoing it makes her sore the next day. She does have some weakness in her hind legs, and will 'leak' if not taken out often enough, but is trying new medication for this problem.
Stormy has done well with cats, children and other dogs, and would do best in a home where she gets a lot of attention and love, but has plenty of quiet time as well. Stormy is a very sweet and gentle dog looking to share her golden years with her forever home. She is in foster care. For more information contact darcyw@thehumanesociety.org

Molly is a spayed, 2-3 year old dark Mantle- Merle female. She has been very sweet and and friendly with all humans big and small, other dogs, and cats. Molly walks well on leash and loves to cuddle on your lap.
While she gets along great with other dogs, she would do best as an only dog, being the center of attention. Molly is looking fort someone to spoil, love, and dote on her! She is doing well in her foster home, but is anxious for a family of her very own. As Molly would like a quieter home, she would not be ideal for a family with small children.
An approved application and fenced yard are required. Please contact aliodanes@gmail.com for more information. |

Titus is a 1 & 1/2 to 2 year old neutered male, black Great Dane with big natural ears, and is very much a teenaged Dane. He is housebroken, and crate trained, and loves rides in the car. He also does fairly well on a leash, but will benefit from a good obedience class to help further his training. Titus is a very sweet boy who can be very affectionate towards his peeps, but watch out for the playful nibbles!
He is learning how to 'play nice' from his Foster brother and sister, both older Danes who sometimes don't want to put up with the roughhousing play of a teenager. Experience with cats and small children is unknown. Titus will do best in a home with Great Dane or large breed experience, with no small children under the age of 10. A Dane or other large breed 'sister' with the ability to put up with a rambunctious teenager would be good for him.
If you have an approved application on file, and would like to meet Titus, or learn more about him, contact his foster family at casselldanes@yahoo.com.

ADOPTION PENDING!!!!!

Shelby is a beautiful three year old spayed female who is quite affectionate and good with other dogs and with cats. Shelby is very polite and gentle and would be happiest with an easy-going canine companion and calm stable adults. She enjoys long walks and lots of snuggles.
Her mission in life is to be someone's special "princess". Are you that someone? If you have an approved application on file with Dane Outreach, please e-mail Nolav@q.com for more information on Shelby. |
